Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role
Location: Levenshulme
Contract: Full-time, starting after Easter until the end of the academic year
Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week

Teaching Personnel is seeking a Humanities Graduate to join a Good Ofsted-rated secondary school in Levenshulme as a Teaching Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in education before pursuing a career in teaching, educational psychology, or related fields.

The Role:

As a Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support students across subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Studies, helping them to engage with their learning and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to provide tailored academic support and contribute to the overall learning environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting students in Humanities lessons, reinforcing key concepts and helping with classwork and assignments.
  • Providing one-to-one and small-group intervention sessions for students who may require additional academic support.
  • Assisting teachers with lesson preparation, resource development, and classroom management.
  • Encouraging students to develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and a passion for Humanities subjects.
  • Supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) or those requiring additional guidance in their studies.
  • Helping to monitor student progress and providing feedback to teachers to support learning plans.
  • Assisting with exam preparation, revision sessions, and study skills development.
  • Encouraging positive engagement with learning and fostering a supportive classroom environment.
  • Promoting safeguarding and well-being in line with school policies and procedures.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a Humanities Graduate who:

  • Has a degree in History, Geography, Religious Studies, or a related field.
  • Is passionate about education and supporting young people in their academic development.
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students.
  • Can adapt their approach to meet the needs of different learners.
  • Has experience working with young people in an educational or mentoring capacity (preferred but not essential).
  • Is patient, resilient, and proactive in supporting students' learning and progress.
  • Has a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training will be provided).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
