Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role
Location: Levenshulme
Contract: Full-time, starting after Easter until the end of the academic year
Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week

Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic Humanities Graduate to join a Good Ofsted-rated secondary school in Levenshulme as a Teaching Assistant. This role is ideal for a recent graduate looking to gain hands-on classroom experience, particularly for those considering a future career in teaching or education.

The Role:

As a Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the Humanities department to support students across subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Studies. You will provide targeted academic support, assist in lesson delivery, and help create a positive learning environment that fosters student engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting teachers in delivering Humanities lessons by providing one-to-one and small-group support to students.
• Supporting students in developing critical thinking, analytical, and writing skills.
• Helping students who may require extra support to reach their academic potential, including those with special educational needs (SEN).
• Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers to help adapt learning strategies.
• Assisting with lesson preparation, resource creation, and classroom management.
• Encouraging student participation in discussions and debates to deepen their understanding of Humanities subjects.
• Covering lessons in other subjects when required, ensuring consistency in students’ learning.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds a degree in a Humanities-related subject such as History, Geography, Politics, or Religious Studies.
• Has a passion for education and supporting students in their learning.
• Can explain complex historical, geographical, or ethical concepts in an engaging and accessible way.
• Is patient, adaptable, and able to build positive relationships with students.
• Has strong communication and organisational skills.
• Has experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, volunteering), though full training will be provided.
