HLTA or Early Career Teacher
Job description
One of our partnership SEMH schools in Ferryhill, are looking for a HLTA or an Early Career Teacher! This role is to begin ASAP!
In this role, you will be engaging in 1:1 sessions with children (Primary) with SEMH needs, focusing on core curriculum subjects. In this role you will also be required to support pupils and classroom teacher as well as take and deliver lessons yourself. You will be working with children and young people who are not able attend mainstream education for multiple reasons, such as:
- Children in Looked After Care
- Anxiety
- Exclusion
- Speech and language difficulties
- Physical and mental health issues, disabilities and learning difficulties
In this role you will:
- Assess and monitor children’s learning and development
- Follow behavior support plans to avoid triggers
- Implement routines and expectations in and around the classroom
- Liaise and deploy support staff in an effective manner
The ideal candidate will have:
- Will hold a HLTA qualication or is an ECT
- Experience supporting children with SEN/SEMH or a keen interest to pursue this
- A kind, caring and patient manner when working with children
- The ability to communicate effectively with other members of staff
- The ability to differentiate lessons to suit the needs of all children
- Full time availability

- 2 most recent employment references covering the last 24 months.
- Applicants who have lived outside of the UK for 6 months or more in the last 5 years will be required to present an overseas criminal check (Police check)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
