Higher Level Teaching Assistant Opportunity – Crook
Teaching Personnel is delighted to be working with a welcoming and dynamic primary school in Newcastle to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the learning and development of pupils across Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2).
About the Role
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting learning and providing short-term cover for whole classes when necessary. You will also:
- Collaborate with teachers to plan, organise, and deliver lessons.
- Work with small groups of pupils for targeted intervention sessions.
- Provide tailored support to ensure each child reaches their full potential.
- Contribute to creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment.
This is a temporary position with opportunities to gain valuable professional experience.
About You
The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm and a genuine passion for working with children, alongside the following:
- HLTA status or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant experience in a primary school setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A nurturing and empathetic approach to supporting young learners.
- A desire to inspire and make a positive impact in the classroom.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
