Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Runcorn)
Level 2 Qualification Considered
An inclusive and forward-thinking secondary school based in Runcorn is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their committed team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting student learning and contributing to the positive, nurturing environment the school is known for.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students across a range of subjects and key stages, ensuring all learners have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to plan, prepare, and deliver targeted interventions.
- Lead small group sessions and, where appropriate, cover lessons in the absence of a teacher.
- Assist in the monitoring and assessment of pupils' progress, feeding back to teachers and pastoral teams.
- Contribute to the overall ethos of the school, promoting high standards of behaviour and achievement.
Essential Qualities and Experience:
- Previous experience working in a school setting, ideally within a secondary environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting young people, including those with additional needs.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to use initiative.
- A genuine passion for education and a commitment to supporting student development.
Qualifications:
- HLTA status preferred, but applicants with a minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification and relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
