Job Advert: Level 2 Teaching Assistant (Secondary School) – Runcorn

An established and supportive secondary school based in Runcorn is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The successful applicant will work closely with teaching staff to support students across a range of abilities within the classroom. The role requires someone with previous experience in a similar setting who is confident in delivering targeted support and fostering a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons by supporting individual and small group learning activities.
• Provide targeted academic support to students with varying needs, including those with SEND.
• Promote a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages student participation and achievement.
• Support the teacher with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe, respectful environment for all students.
• Accompany students on educational visits and provide support during school events as required.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider school community.

Candidate Requirements:

• Hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Have relevant experience working within a secondary school setting.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of the secondary curriculum and the varying needs of students.
• Show excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be proactive, flexible, and committed to supporting young people in their education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
