Job description

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join an Alternative Provision in the Blackburn area. This is a fantastic opportunity for educators looking to make a real difference in the lives of students at KS3 and KS4, with a focus on delivering Maths.

Position Details:

  • Role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Blackburn Area
  • Working Hours: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
  • Key Stage: KS3 & KS4 (Secondary)
  • Primary Subject: Maths (delivery and support)
  • Pay: Dependent on skills and experience

About the Role: The school is looking for a motivated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support the delivery of Maths lessons and provide tailored assistance to students in an Alternative Provision setting. You’ll be working alongside teachers to create a supportive and engaging learning environment, helping students achieve their full potential despite any challenges they may face.

Requirements:

  • Experience in education is essential, preferably in an alternative provision setting or with experience tutoring.
  • A Maths degree or relevant experience in teaching Maths is highly desirable.
  • Passion for supporting students with varying learning needs and helping them progress in their academic journey.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a supportive team.
  • A proactive approach to enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes.
