Role Overview:
As a High-Level Teaching Assistant, you will support both teachers and students, working closely with pupils to enhance their learning experiences. Your role will involve leading small group interventions, providing one-on-one support, and stepping in to cover lessons as needed. This position requires strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to adapt to various learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering targeted interventions to small groups or individual students to improve academic performance and confidence.
- Supporting teachers in lesson planning, preparation, and delivery.
- Supervising classes and covering lessons in the absence of the teacher.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with additional needs.
- Building positive relationships with students to encourage engagement, motivation, and positive behaviour.
- Collaborating with teaching staff to ensure inclusive and effective learning environments.
Requirements:
- HLTA qualification (or equivalent) with experience in a secondary school setting.
- Confidence in supervising whole classes and providing high-quality support in a range of subjects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and staff.
- Flexibility, patience, and a proactive approach to supporting diverse student needs.
- A valid DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
