An esteemed and highly reputable Multi Academy Trust is seeking an exceptional Head of Lower School to join its dedicated team in Darwen. This is a permanent leadership position, offering a fantastic opportunity to shape the educational journey of young learners within a vibrant and supportive environment.
The Head of Lower School will play a pivotal role in overseeing the academic and pastoral development of students, fostering an engaging, inclusive, and high-performing learning environment. Working collaboratively with senior leadership, the successful candidate will inspire and lead a dynamic team of teachers and support staff, ensuring the delivery of outstanding educational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide visionary leadership for the Lower School, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student progress.
- Develop and implement innovative educational strategies to enhance the learning experience.
- Lead, mentor, and support staff, promoting continuous professional development.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and wellbeing across the school community.
- Monitor and evaluate student performance, setting ambitious goals and ensuring their achievement.
- Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and the wider community to support student success.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and promote the welfare of all students.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Proven leadership experience, ideally within a primary or lower school setting.
- A qualified teacher with a track record of delivering high academic standards.
- Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum and child development.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students.
- Demonstrable experience of implementing effective school improvement strategies.
- A passion for educational excellence and a commitment to creating an inclusive, nurturing environment where all students can thrive.
- A deep understanding of safeguarding principles and practices.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience in a senior leadership role (Head of Department, Assistant Headteacher, or equivalent).
- A strong background in primary education, with knowledge of current educational policies and practices.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to lead by example, demonstrating integrity, empathy, and resilience.
