Graduate Teacher Training
Job description
Are you ready to inspire the next generation and build a rewarding career in teaching? Our Salaried Graduate Teacher Training Programme offers you a unique, fully funded route into teaching, starting in September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates who want to make a real difference and gain paid, hands-on experience in the classroom before entering formal teacher training.
About the Programme
This two-phase programme is designed to support you every step of the way as you build your teaching career:
Phase 1: Cover Supervisor (Year 1)
- Role: During your first year, you’ll work as a Cover Supervisor, stepping into classes to provide cover for absent teachers and supporting students with their learning. This role offers invaluable experience managing a classroom environment, building confidence, and developing essential skills that will set you up for success in your teacher training year.
- Experience: You’ll gain deep insight into school life and develop a solid understanding of effective classroom management, behavior strategies, and curriculum content.
- Mentorship: Throughout this phase, you’ll receive ongoing support and guidance from experienced teachers and mentors who are invested in your success.
Phase 2: Graduate Teacher Training (Year 2)
- Formal Training: After completing your year as a Cover Supervisor, you’ll progress to our salaried, fully funded teacher training programme, leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). You’ll receive training in pedagogy, lesson planning, and assessment practices while continuing to work in the classroom.
- In-Class Learning: With the guidance of your mentors and training providers, you’ll gradually take on greater teaching responsibilities, with opportunities to specialize in a subject area if desired.
- Qualification: Upon completion of this second phase, you’ll be fully qualified to teach and can transition seamlessly into a full-time teaching role.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree: A 2:2 or above in any subject
- Passion for Education: We’re looking for graduates who are enthusiastic about making a positive impact on young people’s lives and are ready to dedicate themselves to the teaching profession.
- Eager to Learn and Progress!
What You’ll Gain
- Earn While You Learn: This is a salaried programme, so you’ll earn an income from day one.
- Career Progression: Our programme is designed to help you smoothly transition into a fully qualified teaching role.
- Professional Support: From your initial experience as a Cover Supervisor to your teacher training, you’ll have access to an extensive network of experienced mentors, coaches, and peers.
- Rewarding Career: Teaching is more than just a job—it’s a calling. Through this programme, you’ll gain the skills and confidence to lead a classroom and inspire students daily.
