About the Role
Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join a well-respected secondary school in Hyde, Manchester. This full-time position is available from after Easter to cover a long-term absence. The school is known for its diverse and inclusive environment, strong academic standards, and commitment to fostering a passion for learning among students.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and informative Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. The role requires a teacher who can inspire students to develop their understanding of physical and human geography, environmental issues, and global challenges.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality Geography lessons that engage and challenge students.

Teach a broad curriculum, covering topics such as physical landscapes, climate change, urbanisation, ecosystems, and global development.

Use a variety of teaching strategies, including interactive activities, case studies, and fieldwork opportunities where possible.

Monitor student progress through assessments and provide constructive feedback.

Adapt teaching approaches to support students of varying abilities and learning styles.

Encourage students to think critically about geographical issues and develop a global perspective.

Promote the use of geographical skills, including map reading, data analysis, and GIS technology.

Maintain high standards of classroom management and student engagement.

Contribute to the wider school community, including involvement in extracurricular activities or school trips.
Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.

Experience teaching Geography at Key Stages 3 and 4.

Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Geography.

Ability to create engaging and dynamic lessons that inspire students.

Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to student progress.

Strong communication and organisational skills.
