Job description

Job Title: English and Maths GCSE SEN Tutor

Location: East of England, Essex, Braintree

Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide individualised English and Maths tutoring to students with special educational needs (SEN) preparing for their GCSE exams.
  • Create and implement tailored lesson plans to meet the specific learning requirements of each student.
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly to ensure academic improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other professionals involved in the student's education.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Specialist knowledge of teaching English and Maths at the GCSE level.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of teaching experience in a similar role.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Deep understanding of SEN teaching strategies and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual student needs.

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time hours, with flexibility in scheduling tutoring sessions.
  • Work primarily in a learners home or community center. 
  • Interact with students, parents, and other educational professionals on a regular basis.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
