Job Title: English and Maths GCSE SEN Outreach Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Braintree

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored English and Maths tuition to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) at GCSE level
  • Develop individualised learning plans based on students' needs and abilities
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons to enhance students' understanding and confidence
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing feedback to students and their parents/guardians
  • Collaborate with other educators and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with students with SEN
  • Strong knowledge of the English and Maths GCSE curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students

Education:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field

Experience:

At least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in a SEN setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of SEN strategies and interventions
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to support students with diverse learning needs
  • Proficiency in using various teaching resources and technology to enhance learning
  • Strong organisational and time management skills

Working Conditions:

  • Part-Time hours, flexible schedule
  • Work primarily in learners homes or local libraries
  • Potential for remote teaching or outreach sessions
  • Collaboration with a team of educators and support staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
