Here at Teaching Personnel, we work with large and diverse schools across Pontypool and are currently recruiting for a Welsh speaking Teaching Assistants. The successful candidate will be driven and passionate about the education sector and will demonstrate their resilience whilst supporting pupils and teaching staff to contribute to the overall positive learning environment. We require teaching assistants to work in both primary and secondary schools in Pontypool.

Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Sector: Welsh medium

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30-15:30

Pay: Minimum £12.90 per hour

Start date: ASAP

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to the school’s safeguarding and protection policies to ensure a safe environment for all students
• Foster a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere that promotes student growth and development
• Exhibit flexibility and adaptability in response to the diverse and changing needs of pupils
• Assist teachers and other school staff with daily tasks and support educational activities
• Establish and maintain trusting relationships with students and their families, providing emotional and social support as needed

Job requirements:

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced Child Only DBS Certificate (we can help you obtain this)
• To be registered with the EWC (we will help with this)
• Two professional references covering 24 months
• Level 2 Safeguarding (provided by Teaching Personnel)

Whilst having professional experience working with children is desirable, we welcome applications from people who have personal experience or someone who is simply willing to fully engage and develop skills in this field. You will be provided with valuable training before hand and will be supported by the school in the development of your skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
