Position: Teaching Assistant
Location: Primary School, Pontypool, Wales
Contract Type: Full-Time
Salary: £83.85 per day
Closing Date: 14th March 2025

About the Role:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support a primary school in Pontypool, Wales. As an agency partner, we work closely with schools to provide high-quality teaching assistants who are passionate about supporting students and fostering a positive learning environment.

This position involves working closely with class teacher to support the academic and personal development of students, particularly those with additional learning needs. You will play a key role in ensuring the classroom runs smoothly and students receive the support they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and supporting the curriculum
  • Provide individual and small group support for students
  • Help students with additional learning needs to achieve their potential
  • Support classroom management and organization
  • Track student progress and provide feedback to the teacher
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere
  • Promote good behaviour and assist in maintaining a calm learning environment

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children, preferably in a primary school setting
  • Understanding of child development and learning needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, empathetic, and able to adapt to the needs of individual students
  • Proactive and flexible approach to work
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one)
