Job description

Teaching Personnel are working with a Multi Academt Trust who has schools in the East and Central areas  of Birmingham  who  are now looking to appoint a  number Child and Family Worker to join a well-led and motivated Pastoral Team, committed to continuous improvement. The postholder will be required to establish and maintain links with identified parents and pupils from low income (measured by eligibility for free school meals) and vulnerable backgrounds to improve the life chances of pupils through providing support and access to services.

The Child and Family Worker will support all year groups across the Academy and will work directly with families. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference to pupils and their families, by reducing the barriers to learning.

This role is full time, and long term - with the possibility of going Temp to Perm.

The successful candidate will:

•Have a relevant qualification and/or professional experience in this field in a school setting

• Capable of building trust and positive relations with all they come into contact with

• Have a firm, fair and calm approach when working with young People

• Be a person of integrity and the ability to remain impartial

• Be self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously with minimum supervision, or as part of a team if necessary

Being able to drive is desirable, however this is not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
