Main Purpose of the Role
As an Exam Invigilator, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of public examinations. Your primary responsibility will be supervising candidates to ensure exams are conducted in strict compliance with the regulations set by the Joint Council for General Qualifications (JCQ).
What You’ll Be Doing
- Setting up the examination room to meet regulatory requirements.
- Issuing instructions and notices to candidates before the exam begins.
- Supervising students during exams to ensure compliance with all guidelines.
- Responding to any candidate queries regarding procedures.
- Addressing issues or emergencies in line with school policies.
- Collecting and securing completed exam scripts.
- Reporting any irregularities to the appropriate staff members.
Key Requirements
Essential:
- Familiarity with school policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, and SEN.
- Knowledge of JCQ guidelines for exam conduct.
- Strong interpersonal skills to manage and support students effectively.
- Vigilance and attention to detail to uphold exam security.
Desirable:
- Experience in an educational or supervisory environment.
- Flexibility, initiative, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
