Job Title: ESOL Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Basildon

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) lessons to Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC)
  • Assess students' language skills and create tailored learning plans to meet their individual needs
  • Provide feedback and support to help students improve their English language proficiency
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly

Required Qualifications:

  • CELTA or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) or ESOL to diverse groups of learners
  • Knowledge of language acquisition theories and teaching methodologies

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years' experience teaching ESOL or ESL

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by UASC and ability to provide appropriate support

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications in TESOL or TEFL
  • Experience working with UASC or refugee populations

Working Conditions:

  • Collaborate with other educators and support staff to ensure student success

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
