Functional Skills English and Maths Tutor

Job Location:

Basildon, Essex, East of England

Job Type:

Temporary, Part-Time

£20 - £30 per hour

Job Duties:

  • Deliver high-quality English and Maths tutoring to individuals or small groups
  • Create and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to the needs of each student
  • Assess students' progress and provide feedback to help them improve their functional skills
  • Support students in developing their literacy and numeracy skills
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress

Required Qualifications:

  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Specialism in English and Maths

Education:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

  • Proven experience in teaching functional skills English and Maths
  • Experience working with adult learners preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of the UK education system
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students
  • Organisational skills and attention to detail

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time hours, flexible schedule

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
