English Tutor

Are you passionate about the power of language? Do you love helping students find their voice, build confidence, and succeed in English? We’re looking for a committed and enthusiastic English Tutor to support learners across the Sunderland area.

About the Role:
As an English Tutor, you’ll work with students at various stages of their academic journey. Whether it's building foundational literacy skills or preparing for key exams, you’ll tailor your sessions to suit each learner’s individual needs and goals.

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver engaging and effective one-to-one or small group English tuition
• Support students with reading, writing, comprehension, grammar, and exam techniques
• Plan creative, personalised tuition sessions based on student strengths and areas for improvement
• Track progress and provide regular, constructive feedback
• Build strong, supportive relationships with students

What We’re Looking For:

• A strong academic background in English or a related subject
• Teaching or tutoring experience
• Excellent knowledge of the UK English curriculum
• Great communication skills and a genuine desire to help others succeed
• A child workforce enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
• Reliable, organised, and friendly

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
