English Tutor

At TP Tutors, we are looking for a dedicated and compassionate English Tutor to support students who have experienced gaps in their education and may struggle with anxiety around learning. Our ideal candidate will be someone who is not only skilled in teaching English but is also empathetic and patient, able to help students build both academic skills and emotional confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver one-on-one tutoring sessions tailored to the needs of students who may have been out of school for an extended period.

• Help students build their English language skills (reading, writing, grammar) while creating a safe and nurturing learning environment.

• Provide emotional support and encouragement to students, helping them overcome learning anxiety and rebuild confidence in their abilities.

• Develop personalised lesson plans that cater to the individual needs and pace of each student.

• Maintain clear communication with the student and those involved in the students care, to track progress and adapt learning strategies as needed.

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

• Has experience working with students who have learning difficulties or anxiety-related challenges.

• Is passionate about creating positive, supportive learning environments.

• Is patient, empathetic, and understands that learning is not just about academics—it’s also about emotional growth.

• Is comfortable teaching a range of abilities and tailoring lessons to suit the unique needs of each student.

• Has a relevant teaching qualification or substantial experience in tutoring English (TESOL, CELTA, or similar qualifications are a plus).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
