English Tutor
Job description
Are you are a teacher/tutor who is looking to work on a part-time basis in the Hull area? Do you have a strong interest in educating students who deserve a second chance, and the opportunity to reach for their goals? Then, we may have the opportunity you are looking for!
For this role, we are looking for English Tutor. As a tutor, you will need to be able to build a relationship with students, and tailor your approach to cater for their additional needs and preferences. In addition to this, you may be required to quickly adapt and change your approach to suit the environment which the pupil is in.
The pay for tutoring is £25-£30 per hour. It is desirable for the applicants to hold full UK driving licence as a selection of the pupils may need to be tutored within their home/at a local library.
Requirements for the role:
- Professional Teaching Qualifications are preferred (Qualified Teacher Status, QTS).
- A solid grasp of the English Language to convey themselves to students.
- A desire to promote and encourage, as well as motivate themselves.
- An Enhanced Child Workforce only DBS on the update service, or willingness to purchase one via TP Tutors (support for obtaining one can be provided).
- Experience of working with children/young people with SEND, SEMH and other additional needs.
- An excellent understanding of the English curriculum.
- Professional references from your two most recent employers, totalling 24 months from a 10-year career history.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
