You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and dynamic lessons that cover a wide range of english topics, including classic and contemporary literature, poetry, and creative writing, all aligned with the national curriculum.
Your ability to make these topics accessible and exciting through innovative teaching techniques and interactive class activities will help students appreciate the power of language and storytelling.
The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have a strong academic background in English. You should demonstrate a deep understanding of your subject matter and possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to engage effectively with students across a range of abilities.
You will be both supportive and encouraging, helping students develop critical thinking skills, enhance their comprehension and analytical abilities, and express their thoughts clearly in both written and oral forms. You will strive to create an inclusive and positive classroom atmosphere where every student feels encouraged to contribute and succeed.
Beyond classroom teaching, you will actively participate in the broader life of our school community. This includes collaborating with fellow teachers to share best practices, participating in departmental meetings, and contributing to the development and refinement of the English curriculum.
You will also have the opportunity to engage with students outside the classroom by leading extracurricular activities such as literature clubs, debate teams or drama productions, further enhancing their appreciation and love for English.
