An esteemed independent secondary school in Fareham, known for its broad, creative, and challenging curriculum, is seeking a passionate and dedicated English teacher to join their flourishing team full-time from October.

With a curriculum that has been lovingly crafted to inspire and engage students, this school prides itself on nurturing young minds and fostering a love of learning.

Teaching Personnel work closely with this school and is assisting in seeking an uplifting English teacher who is enthusiastic about their role and committed to making a positive impact in the classroom.

The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for teaching, a drive to inspire students, and the ability to deliver high-quality lessons that challenge and engage young learners.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering Engaging Lessons: Design and implement engaging, thought-provoking, and creative lesson plans that cater to a wide range of learning styles, ensuring all students are challenged and inspired.

  • Developing Critical Thinking Skills: Foster critical thinking and analytical skills by guiding students to explore, question, and interpret texts, encouraging them to express their thoughts and ideas confidently.

  • Supporting Individual Growth: Provide personalised feedback and support to help each student improve their reading, writing, and communication skills. This includes setting individualised learning targets and offering additional help where necessary.

  • Promoting Inclusivity and Diversity: Create an inclusive classroom environment that celebrates diversity and ensures all students feel valued and respected. Encourage discussions on various cultural perspectives and viewpoints within literature.

  • Assessment and Reporting: Regularly assess student's progress through both formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback. Keep accurate records and communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student development.

  • Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive, well-organised classroom environment that promotes learning, respect, and mutual understanding. Implement effective strategies for managing student behaviour and ensuring a safe space for all.

  • Mentoring and Guidance: Act as a mentor and role model for students, offering guidance not only in academic matters but also in personal development and career aspirations related to English and the arts.

  • Adapting to Change: Be flexible and adaptable to changes in curriculum requirements, educational technologies, and student needs, always ready to adjust teaching strategies to provide the best learning experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
