About the Role
Our client, a dynamic coeducational all-through school and sixth form based in Chatteris, is seeking to appoint an ambitious and experienced Deputy Head of Maths to support the leadership of a thriving Mathematics department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Maths teacher with leadership aspirations to play a key role in shaping teaching and learning across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Department to support curriculum planning, raise standards of achievement, and mentor team members, while continuing to deliver excellent Maths teaching.
Key Responsibilities

Support the strategic leadership of the Maths department, ensuring high-quality teaching and strong student outcomes

Deliver inspiring and effective Maths lessons across KS3–KS5
-
Assist with curriculum development, assessment strategies, and data analysis

Mentor and support colleagues, including ECTs and support staff
-
Monitor and promote high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour across the department
-
Contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives and leadership responsibilities
Ideal Candidate
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong academic background in Mathematics or a related subject
-
Proven track record of delivering excellent outcomes in Maths at secondary or sixth form level
-
Experience in a middle leadership role or readiness to step into leadership

Strong understanding of curriculum planning, assessment, and data-led improvement
-
Effective communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
