Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Sector: Secondary Education
Location: Newport, Cwmbran, Pontypool
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: £110 – £115 per day
Start Date: ASAP

Are you a PGCE student who’s just finished your course and eager to step into the classroom before securing your QTS? Teaching Personnel is offering a fantastic opportunity to build hands-on teaching experience across secondary schools in the Newport, Cwmbran, and Pontypool areas during the summer term.

This is a perfect chance to gain valuable classroom experience, boost your confidence, and make connections that could lead to a permanent role in September!


About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you'll:

  • Supervise lessons in the absence of the regular teacher

  • Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a positive learning environment

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and support students in their learning

  • Build rapport with students and staff across different schools

  • Experience a variety of schools and departments to expand your skillset


What We’re Looking For:

  • Recently completed PGCE student (awaiting or close to achieving QTS)

  • Passionate about teaching and inspiring young learners

  • Confident in managing a classroom

  • Eligible to work in the UK

  • EWC registered (or willing to register)

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or happy to apply through us)
