Cover Supervisors play a vital role in maintaining continuity of education when the regular teacher is absent. You’ll be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons to students, ensuring classroom behaviour is managed effectively, and that learning continues smoothly in the teacher’s absence.

This is a flexible, on-call position, suitable for those looking for part-time work, those building teaching experience, or individuals seeking term-time hours.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff.

  • Deliver set lesson plans and ensure pupils remain on task with their work.

  • Manage classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies.

  • Provide feedback to teaching staff about student behaviour and lesson engagement.

  • Encourage a positive learning environment, helping students stay motivated and focused.

 

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Confident individuals with strong communication and organisational skills.

  • Those with a genuine interest in education and working with young people.

  • People who are flexible and able to adapt to different schools and classroom environments.

  • Prior classroom or youth work experience is preferred

  • Minimum qualifications: A good standard of education (GCSEs or equivalent), ideally with A-Levels or higher.
