Behavioural Support Assistant – SEMH Residential School (Ellesmere Port)

Are you a dedicated professional with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have a passion for making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable students?

The Role

As a Behavioural Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEN and SEMH needs, both individually and in small groups.
  • Build trusting, supportive relationships with students to understand their challenges and needs.
  • Work alongside teachers and staff to develop and implement effective support strategies.
  • Assist in creating and delivering personalized learning plans.
  • Track student progress and adapt support strategies accordingly.
  • Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment.

  • Have experience working with children with SEN and SEMH needs.
  • Be skilled in building and maintaining strong relationships with students and staff.
  • Be compassionate, patient, and committed to providing high-quality care and support.
  • Work effectively both one-on-one and in small group settings.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Be dedicated to ongoing professional growth and development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
