Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with a secondary school located in Stoke-on-Trent who are seeking a full-time passionate and dedicated Behavioural Support Assistant to join the team. The school provides a nurturing and supportive environment for all of its pupils and believe that every student has the chance to succeed.

  • The school is in a great location with excellent transport links between Macclesfield and Congleton
  • Opportunity to earn £85-£110 per day (dependent on experience)
  • Immediate start upon registering with Teaching Personnel

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing 1-1 and support within smaller groups to individuals with behavioural, emotional and social challenges
  • Supporting the class teacher in ensuring the schools behaviour policies are followed
  • Assisting in managing challenging behaviour and de-escalating potentially disruptive situations
  • Liaising with other members of staff and parents/carers to provide updates on students progress/development

What we are looking for:

  • Experience supporting students with behavioural needs is necessary for this role
  • Confident in classroom/behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
  • Ability to create a positive and supportive atmosphere
  • Safeguarding training (must be done through Teaching Personnel)

To be considered for this role, applicants must have a DBS registered on the update service or be willing to apply for one upon registering with Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
