CAN YOU REMAIN CALM IN CHALLENGING SITUATIONS?

ARE YOU CONFIDENT WORKING WITH CHILDREN WITH CHALLENGING BEHAVIOUR AND SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS?

 

Teaching Personnel are in collaboration with a secondary school in B36 to recruit a specialist behaviour mentor to work closely supporting pupils who display challenging behaviour or who cannot access main class activities.

 

There are vulnerable pupils who feel overwhelmed in the school environment so it is important that behaviour mentors work closely with these pupils to ensure they are still achieving the best academic outcomes without falling too far behind.

 

FINER DETAILS:

- Location: Birmingham (B36)

- Hours: Full Time (Mon-Fri, term time only)

-Rate of Pay: £85-100 (dependent upon experience)

-Start Date: ASAP

 

Ideal Person Specification:

- Previous experience working in a similar role

- Have previous experience working with children with special educational needs

- Be a calm and positive presence and have an understanding on how to de-escalate situations

- Hold GCSEs in English and Maths

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Supporting vulnerable pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis

- Lead interventions and provide tailored support to pupils with additional learning needs

- Implement and adapt a range of learning activities to support with pupils learning and development 

- Provide effective strategies and coping mechanisms for pupils suffering with anxiety and stress

- Always remain a positive and approachable figure for all pupils

- Communicate effectively with teachers and other members of staff to ensure everyone is on board with fulfilling the holistic needs of the children within your care

 

Behaviour mentors provide specialist support to pupils who need it the most, your positivity and calm demeanour will be the key to thriving in this position.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
