A highly reputable and forward-thinking Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) in Birmingham is seeking an exceptional Assistant Principal (Inclusion) to join its senior leadership team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced and driven leader to play a key role in promoting and embedding an inclusive culture across a thriving network of schools.
The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring strategies that ensure all students, regardless of background or ability, have the opportunity to thrive. They will lead on inclusion, SEND provision, safeguarding, and pastoral care, ensuring that the highest standards of support and intervention are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the school’s inclusion strategy, ensuring all students have access to a high-quality, inclusive education.
- Oversee SEND provision, working closely with the SENCO and other key staff to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Promote and uphold a culture of safeguarding, ensuring robust systems and processes are in place to protect all students.
- Develop and implement strategies to support the achievement and wellbeing of vulnerable learners, including those with SEND, EAL, and disadvantaged backgrounds.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of inclusion strategies, identifying areas for improvement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external agencies, parents, and the wider community to support the holistic development of all students.
- Contribute to the strategic leadership of the school, driving forward the Trust’s vision and values.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with significant leadership experience, ideally in an inclusion or pastoral capacity.
- Have a proven track record of successfully improving outcomes for students with diverse needs.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of SEND legislation, safeguarding practices, and the principles of inclusive education.
- Be an inspirational leader with excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
- Have the ability to develop and lead high-performing teams to drive positive change.
- Be committed to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
