Aspiring Trainee Teacher – Prepared Cover Lessons | Secondary | Manchester | Immediate Start

Contract: Full-time, Temporary (with potential to transition to teacher training)
Salary: £100 – £130 per day (PAYE), depending on experience
Location: Manchester, Greater Manchester
Start date: ASAP


The Role

Teaching Personnel is supporting a well-regarded secondary school in the Manchester area that is looking for an Aspiring Trainee Teacher to cover lessons across various subjects while gaining essential classroom experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone considering a career in teaching, looking to take the first steps toward becoming a qualified teacher.

You will:

  • Deliver prepared cover lessons across a variety of subjects, ensuring students remain engaged and productive in the absence of their regular teacher.

  • Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher, ensuring all activities are completed and students' learning is maintained.

  • Provide pastoral support to students, helping to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Support classroom management, ensuring that students adhere to the school's behaviour expectations and remain focused throughout the lesson.

  • Assist with marking and feedback as needed, helping students track their progress.

  • Develop your teaching practice by observing experienced teachers, receiving constructive feedback, and taking part in opportunities for self-improvement and professional growth.

You Will Need

  • A passion for teaching and a desire to help students succeed academically and personally.

  • Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to keep students engaged and focused during lessons.

  • Good communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff alike.

  • A proactive approach to learning and teaching, with a willingness to take the initiative in the classroom.

  • A current DBS check on the Update Service, or the willingness to apply for one.
