1:1 Functional Skills Tutor
Location: Nottingham (NG7)

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate 1:1 Functional Skills Tutor to support learners in achieving their qualifications in English, Maths, and/or ICT. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to learners who benefit from personalised, one-to-one teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, tailored Functional Skills lessons in English, Maths, and/or ICT

  • Create individual learning plans based on learners’ starting points and goals

  • Track and record learner progress effectively

  • Provide constructive feedback and encouragement

  • Prepare learners for formal assessments

  • Liaise with other professionals to ensure consistent support

  • Adapt resources and teaching methods to suit a variety of learning styles and abilities

Essential Requirements:

  • Teaching qualification

  • Proven experience teaching Functional Skills

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • Ability to engage and motivate learners with diverse needs

  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
