1:1 Functional Skills Tutor
Location: Nottingham
Role Overview:
As a 1:1 Functional Skills Tutor, you will work closely with individual learners, providing personalised instruction and support to help them improve their functional skills in English, Maths, and ICT. You will adapt your teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of your learners, ensuring that each session is engaging and focused on the learner's specific goals.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored, one-to-one tuition in Functional Skills English, Maths, and ICT

Assess learners’ current skills and identify areas for improvement
-
Develop personalised learning plans and set clear, achievable goals
-
Track learners’ progress and provide regular feedback
-
Create a positive and supportive learning environment

Adjust teaching methods to suit individual learning styles
-
Foster a growth mindset and encourage learners to reach their full potential
-
Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
Essential Criteria:
-
Experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills or similar qualifications
-
Strong knowledge of Functional Skills qualifications in English, Maths, and ICT
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
A passion for helping learners succeed and achieve their potential
-
Ability to build rapport and adapt teaching strategies to individual learning needs
-
Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent)
-
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
