We are looking for someone who’s highly committed in helping young people, many of whom have faced significant challenges, to achieve more than they might believe is possible.

A primary through to secondary school are looking for their next teaching assistant to help the children develop their resilience, confidence and academic potential. You’ll support them to develop positive relationships with adults and each other.  It is not always easy for some, but we believe that progress is always possible through building trusting relationships and uplifting the confidence. Can you build these relationships and confidence within these children?

About the position:

  • The role is full-time and to begin in February. Monday- Friday (08:15-3:45) term time only.
  • No prior teaching qualifications/ experience in the classroom but has experience with challenging behaviour.
  • Classroom size no bigger than 8 students
  • Assist the class teacher in providing tailored educational support to students.
  • Provide one-on-one support and guidance to children, either individually or in small groups.
  • The potential of a contract with the school to the success candidate
  • On site car parking with accessible bus routes

The successful candidate:

  • Ideally (but not essential) has experience working with children. Very desirable if you have worked with children with SEN/ SEMH needs.
  • Ideally (but not essential) has experience working with adults and/ or adults with disabilities.
  • (essential) Has experience with de-escalating challenging behaviour and possess excellent behaviour management skills
  • Look forward to making every day exciting in the classroom and making a safe space for the students.
  • Open to learning new skills and comfortable with personal development
  • Have a confident, proactive and understanding attitude as the children need a positive role model.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
