Location: Caerphilly
Hours: 8:30 – 15:30
Pay: £13.75p/hr (term time only)
Full time with immediate start until the end of the academic year

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated educators with a nurturing approach to work at a lovely Secondary school in Caerphilly. This role is based within the pupil referral unit providing 1 to 1 support for pupils with challenging behaviour and additional learning needs.
About the department:
- The team have created a calm, safe space for pupils across the local authority where you will be required to provide support to pupils with challenging behaviour, additional learning needs and emotional needs on a 1:1 basis.
- Separate provision for children in a pupil referral unit.
- A supportive school environment with an opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life.
About the role:
- Monday – Friday (08:30-15:30).
- Supporting the teacher and classroom staff by managing classroom behaviour and implementing tailored support strategies.
- You will play a key role in helping students build the confidence and life skills necessary for success and help create a safe learning environment for the pupils.
- Provide firm but supportive guidance, maintaining clear boundaries while being caring and understanding
- Pupils are taught in small class sizes, usually not exceeding 10 students, with a high staff-to-student ratio, ensuring personalised support.
Successful applicants will have:
- Experience working with children (e.g., residential care, healthcare, in volunteer roles, babysitting, or sports coaching) is desirable.
- A genuine passion for working with children and helping them succeed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Commitment to completing all required training courses promptly
- No formal qualifications are required (ideal for those without prior experience in education).
- An enhanced DBS check on the update service
- EWC (guidance will be given)
- Provide 2 references
- Able to travel to the Caerphilly area

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
