One-to-One Teaching Assistant – Year 2 (Autism Support)

Location: Fazakerley, Liverpool
Start Date: After the Feb half term or 22nd April 2025
Salary: FROM £12.90 (depending on experience)

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and patient One-to-One Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Fazakerley, Liverpool, to provide vital support to a non-verbal Year 2 pupil with Autism.

Role Overview

  • Working on a one-to-one basis with a child in Year 2 with Autism who is non-verbal.
  • Supporting the pupil’s learning, communication, and social development.
  • Helping to implement individual learning plans and sensory strategies tailored to the child’s needs.
  • Collaborating with class teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure the pupil’s progress.
  • Creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

About You

We are looking for a compassionate, adaptable, and reliable individual who:

  • Has experience working with children with Autism (preferably in a school setting).
  • Is confident in using alternative communication strategies (e.g., PECS, Makaton) or willing to learn.
  • Is patient, calm, and able to build positive relationships with children.
  • Can work effectively as part of a team and adapt to different situations.
  • Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
