Job Title: Year 1 Primary Teacher
Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire
Position Type: Full-time
Salary: £500 - £700 per week
Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Year 1 Primary Teacher to join our friendly and supportive school community in Salisbury. The ideal candidate will be an experienced and dedicated teacher with a strong commitment to providing a high-quality education and ensuring all children reach their full potential in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching:
- Ensure a high standard of teaching, meeting the needs of all pupils, including those with additional learning needs.
- Create an inspiring and motivating classroom environment that promotes learning, curiosity, and independence.
- Assessment and Reporting:
- Regularly assess student progress through formative and summative assessments.
- Provide constructive feedback to students, helping them set and achieve personal targets.
- Maintain accurate records of students' achievements and progress, in line with school policies.
- Communicate regularly with parents/carers regarding student progress, attending parent-teacher meetings.
- Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to ensure the delivery of a consistent and high-quality educational experience.
- Contribute to the development of the school curriculum and extracurricular activities.
- Classroom Management:
- Establish and maintain high expectations for student behaviour, using positive behaviour management strategies.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom atmosphere where students feel safe and supported.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A strong understanding of the Year 1 curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
- Experience working in primary education, ideally within Key Stage 1 (KS1).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for working with young children and a commitment to their well-being and success.
- Desirable:
- Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Familiarity with current assessment systems and the ability to implement these in the classroom.
