Teaching Assistant opportunity in Winchester!
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 class in Winchester. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to provide tailored support for children with a range of needs, including [list types of needs, e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia, speech and language difficulties, etc.].
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with individual children or small groups to support their learning needs.
- Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
- Support children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
- Help with classroom management and provide pastoral care.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to plan and deliver suitable activities and interventions.
- Monitor progress and report observations to the class teacher or SENCO.
- Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment for all students.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children, ideally in a school setting (experience in SEN is a plus).
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting children with special educational needs.
- A positive, proactive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
- Understanding of different SEN and strategies to support inclusive learning.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
- A clear enhanced DBS check.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
