Do you have a background in SEND and are now looking to transfer your skills and expertise into a rewarding role in a primary school? At Teaching Personnel, we are seeking dedicated SEND specialists like you to bring your experience into primary classrooms across Hampshire.
Why Choose a Primary School in Hampshire?
Hampshire is home to a diverse range of primary schools, each committed to providing an inclusive, supportive environment for children with a variety of SEND needs. These schools are ideal for SEND professionals looking to make a real, lasting impact on children’s learning and development.
Hampshire primary schools offer:
- A Focus on Inclusion: Primary schools in Hampshire are dedicated to providing equal opportunities for all children, ensuring that those with SEND receive the support they need to succeed.
- Strong Community Support: Working in smaller, tight-knit teams allows for excellent collaboration with colleagues and families, ensuring each child gets the attention they deserve.
- Outstanding Career Development: Hampshire’s primary schools provide fantastic opportunities for career progression, professional training, and support for SEND professionals.
- Diverse Student Needs: With a wide range of SEND requirements across the schools, you’ll be able to use your expertise in a variety of ways, ensuring your skills grow and develop.
Why Primary Schools Offer the Best Environment for SEND Professionals
Primary schools provide a unique opportunity to make a lasting difference in the early stages of a child's education. It’s in these formative years that children develop the foundational skills they need for academic success and social integration. By joining a primary school, you’ll have the chance to:
- Support Early Intervention: Your role will allow you to make a significant impact on children’s learning, particularly when intervention at an early stage is key to their success.
- Build Lasting Relationships: In primary schools, you work with the same group of children, building strong, supportive relationships that positively affect their educational journey.
- Nurture Holistic Development: Primary schools take a well-rounded approach to education, supporting not only academic growth but also emotional, social, and physical development. Your expertise will help children with SEND thrive in all areas.
Common SEND Needs in the Primary Classroom
In a typical UK primary school, you’ll encounter a broad spectrum of SEND needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): Children with ASD may experience challenges with social communication, sensory processing, and behavior regulation. Your knowledge can help create tailored strategies that foster a positive learning experience.
- Dyslexia: This learning difficulty can affect reading, writing, and spelling. As a SEND specialist, you’ll develop effective strategies to support children in overcoming these challenges.
- ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder): ADHD can impact children’s ability to focus and regulate their behavior. Your expertise in creating structured, supportive environments will be crucial to their academic and social success.
- Speech and Language Needs: Many children face challenges with speech and language development, making your role essential in ensuring they have the communication skills they need to succeed.
These children need dedicated support to overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential. Your experience in SEND can play a key role in unlocking their success.
