A secondary school in Rhondda Cynon Taf are looking for an English teacher to join their new faculty in March. Candidates looking for a full-time permanent role where they can advance in their career are highly encouraged to apply.
The role encompasses a combination of Welsh language and Welsh BAcc where the ideal applicant will have experience teaching KS3 and 4. Candidates who have taught A-level are desirable, however the school are open to teachers who can demonstrate excellent classroom management and a keen eye for detail.
The timetable might include four lessons of general cover work which will likely be Welsh Bacc, however this has not been confirmed by the head of department just yet.
The School
The School is situated in a low socio-economic income area. There is a high percentage of free school meals and pupils who are in foster care. As a result, the school are looking for someone who has a high level of empathy, determination and a desire to see every child succeed.
The percentage of A*-C grades in GCSE core subjects have improved by 30% in the past two years under a new headship. A recent Estyn report has commended the school on its progress in behavioural ethos and attitudes towards learning. The Senior Leadership Team has also been praised for their commitment and dedication towards implementing a positive learning environment.
The school is in the process of undergoing large renovations, including a new 4G sports pitch and a performing arts space that will be utilised by the community.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
