Job description

Welsh Speaking Teaching Assistant

  • Are you able to teach in Welsh?

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Welsh speaking teaching assistant to work in the Carmarthen area. The school we are working with are a Welsh medium secondary school. The school has excellent facilities and has proud sporting traditions.

Welsh Speaking Teaching Assistant Must Have:

  • Excellent communication skills in the medium of Welsh
  • Experience of working with young people (not essential to be in a school)
  • The ability to motivate and enthuse students
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues

Role of a Welsh speaking Teaching Assistant:

  • Assisting the children in the class with basic tasks and activities
  • Helping pupils diagnosed with learning difficulties throughout the day, offering encouragement and support
  • Aiding the teacher with extra activities outside the classroom, including things like Sports Days and assemblies
  • Maintaining a good standard of behaviour within the classroom environment

The successful candidate will have a starting pay of £83.85 per day. They will also have access to a number of free and discounted accredited CPD courses, such as Team Teach and a Level 2 Safeguarding qualification.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
