Pay: £86.40 per day
Roles Available: Full-time and part-time
Teaching Personnel are excited to partner with a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Cwmbran, which supports young people aged 3 to 19 with a range of additional learning needs. We are currently seeking both full-time and part-time Learning Support Assistants to join their dedicated team of educators.
The School:
The school serves pupils with diverse learning needs across several locations in Cwmbran and Torfaen. Classes are small, typically with no more than 10 pupils, and are staffed with a teacher and a team of Learning Support Assistants to cater to the specific needs of each pupil. The school focuses on fostering self-esteem, behaviour, confidence, and overall development through personalised learning experiences. The goal is to create an empowering, inclusive, and child-centred environment that supports pupils’ growth both academically and socially.
The Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support the personal and educational development of students, following their individual development plans. These plans will be provided to you to guide your support. You will work both inside and outside the classroom, as sensory and practical lessons are integral to the learning process at the school. You will also encourage independence and promote a positive attitude towards learning, helping to build strong relationships with pupils and contribute to their academic success.
You will receive training from both Teaching Personnel and the school to ensure you are confident and well-equipped to support the pupils in your care.
What We’re Looking For:
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (don’t worry, we can help you apply!)
- An application with the Education Workforce Council (we can help with this too!)
- Availability to commute to Cwmbran from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM
- Two professional references
- A positive attitude and a passion for helping others
- A willingness to learn how to effectively support young people in an alternative education setting
