Job Title: UASC ESOL Outreach Tutor

Job Duties:

  • Deliver English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) outreach sessions to Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC).
  • Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of UASC learners.
  • Provide individual and group support to enhance language skills and integration.
  • Assess and monitor progress of UASC learners, providing constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with other support staff to ensure holistic support for UASC individuals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Recognised teaching qualification in ESOL or relevant field.
  • Experience working with UASC learners.
  • Knowledge of UK educational frameworks and policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in ESOL or working with UASC individuals.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of the challenges faced by UASC learners.
  • Ability to create engaging and inclusive learning environments.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in TESOL or related field.
  • Experience in delivering outreach programmes to vulnerable populations.

Working Conditions:

This role involves working part-time hours on a temporary basis, providing outreach support to UASC learners in the East of England. The work may require travel to different locations within the region and flexibility in working hours to accommodate learners' needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
