Location: Newport

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 – 15:30

Pay: minimum £12.82ph

Start: April/May 2024

Teaching Personnel are seeking a Teaching Assistant to work in a large primary school based in Newport. We are seeking an enthusiastic educator capable of fostering positive connections with both students and colleagues, demonstrating reliability, and showcasing genuine passion for their role. While experience in supporting students with Additional Learning Needs is desirable, it is not a mandatory requirement. Preferably, we are looking for someone with previous experience in a school setting, however other similar settings are accepted. We are looking for an educator who can build positive working relationships with pupils and staff and is reliable and passionate about their role.

A Successful Teaching Assistant will require:

• To be registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council)
• Hold a Child only DBS certificate that is registered on the Update System.
• Provide 2 professional references covering 24 months.
• To be confident with basic literacy and numerous to support curriculum.

Teaching Assistant responsibilities:

• Supporting the class teacher with classroom preparation.
• Promote independent working but also encouraging social interaction and engagement.
• Supervising and actively partaking in small group activities such as reading and writing.
• Provide social and emotional support to pupils.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils and interact with them according to their individual needs and characters.
• Adhere to school’s safeguarding and protection policies.
• Various admin ad hoc tasks to support.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
