Job description

The school is currently seeking a dedicated Full-Time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join its team, providing support to students aged 11-16 with a range of learning, behaviour, and emotional needs. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people with moderate to severe learning difficulties, including complex communication needs and social, emotional, and mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support, helping students engage with the curriculum

  • Assist in delivering lessons tailored to students’ individual needs

  • Support the classroom teacher in managing behaviour and promoting an inclusive atmosphere

  • Help students develop academically, socially, and emotionally through varied teaching strategies

  • Prepare and organize classroom resources and materials

  • Monitor student progress and contribute to individual education plans (IEPs)

Person Specification:

  • Passion for supporting young people with special educational needs

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting

  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents

  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and team-oriented

  • Enhanced DBS check (at the applicant’s own cost)
