Teaching Assistant – Primary School (NP12)

Are you a passionate and proactive Teaching Assistant looking for a new opportunity? Teaching Personnel is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in NP12, starting in March 2025.

About the Role

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant with experience working with children, whether in a school setting or a similar environment such as playschemes, sports coaching, nurseries, residential homes, or care settings. If you have transferable skills from roles such as Support Worker or Care Assistant, we encourage you to apply!

As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide support to pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN). While experience in this area is desirable, it is not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Assist the class teacher in managing classroom behaviour
✅ Support small groups in reading, writing, and numeracy activities
✅ Provide social and emotional support where needed
✅ Help prepare the classroom and organise learning resources
✅ Encourage pupils to engage in class activities and interact with their peers
✅ Build positive relationships with pupils, adapting to their individual needs

Ideal Candidate:

✔ Has experience supporting children in a classroom or alternative setting
✔ Can build positive relationships with both pupils and staff
✔ Is confident in managing behaviour and supporting learning
✔ Has strong verbal communication and active listening skills
✔ Can handle situations with empathy and patience

Job Details:

Location: NP12
Pay: Minimum £12.90 per hour, rising in April
⏰ Hours: Full Time, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Start Date: March 2025
