We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join a well-established Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Basingstoke, which is part of a reputable academy group dedicated to providing outstanding education and support for students with a wide range of learning needs. The school supports children aged 4-19, including those with learning disabilities, social and communication difficulties, and physical challenges.

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our dedicated team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students, assisting them in accessing the curriculum and engaging with learning activities

  • Assist in the delivery of tailored lessons that address the individual educational, social, and emotional needs of students

  • Support the classroom teacher in managing student behaviour and promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Encourage students’ personal, social, and academic development through various teaching strategies

  • Help with the preparation and organisation of classroom resources and learning materials

  • Support the monitoring of student progress and assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)

Person Specification:

  • A genuine passion for working with young people, particularly those with special educational needs

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in a school or similar educational setting

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents

  • A positive and proactive attitude towards supporting students' educational and personal development

  • Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from teaching staff

  • A Child Enhanced DBS check on the update service (this will be required at the applicant’s own cost)
