Learning Support Assistant- SEN- basingstoke

We’re excited to offer a wonderful opportunity at a welcoming and supportive Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Basingstoke, focused on providing an inclusive and nurturing environment for children aged 4-19 with a wide range of learning needs. The school is dedicated to helping students with special educational needs, including learning disabilities, social and communication challenges, and physical needs, to thrive and reach their full potential. There is room for candidates to work across primary and secondary age groups within the school. The studnets have a primary diagnosis of Autism and other learning and communication needs.

We’re now seeking a full-time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join the team and support students across various age groups. If you have a passion for working with young people and helping them overcome challenges, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups

  • Assisting with the delivery of lessons tailored to individual student needs

  • Helping the teacher manage behaviour and create a positive classroom atmosphere

  • Encouraging students' personal, social, and academic development

  • Supporting the setup of activities and classroom resources

What We’re Looking For:

  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with diverse needs

  • Experience working with children, ideally in a school or similar environment

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others

  • A positive, can-do attitude and a commitment to providing excellent support

  • A Child Enhanced DBS on the update service (this will be required at your own cost)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
