What is Future Teachers?
Teaching Personnel’s Future Teacher Programme lets you fully explore a career in education before committing to Initial Teacher Training. We provide paid placements in schools and start a journey that can ultimately lead to qualified teacher status and a career that changes lives. The programme offers practical experience, strong school support, and a unique route toward teacher training and a career in education regardless of your subject.

Why Future Teachers?
Teaching Personnel has joined forces with schools in the North East to offer a unique program that provides graduates with meaningful, paid experience as they contemplate their initial teacher training journey. Our aim is to equip graduates with valuable skills, offer a stable 12-month employment opportunity, and connect them with potential employers and ITT providers. We're committed to not only increasing the number of graduates entering the teaching profession but also ensuring their successful retention during and after their training year!
What Does Future Teachers Offer?
As part of the Future Teachers program, you'll embark on a 12-month position where you'll gain essential skills needed for a teaching career. Following the first year, we will support you as you apply for initial teacher training through a SCITT programme, often working in the same school or MAT group. Schools and MATs value the Future Teacher Programme as it helps them develop teachers who understand their school group’s particular culture and ethos.

What Are We Looking For?
While prior school-based experience is not mandatory, candidates should demonstrate a genuine passion and interest in education. You should hold an undergraduate degree, STEM subjects are highly desirable, and we'll discuss specific subject specialisms upon application to ensure the most suitable placement. Positions are available throughout the year, with the largest intake typically in September.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
